This course is has been developed to help all school related personal understand the struggles and needs of the economically disadvantaged.  The main focus of this course will be to Increase student motivation and understanding through purposeful engagement of those in poverty.  As educators, we must prevent our students from slipping between the cracks because our inability to understand their unique situation and needs.  Upon completion of this course, teachers will be more prepared to take action to assist this group of students better prepare for their academic future.

This course is appropriate for both general education and special education teachers of students in grades K-12 and is worth 45 hours of professional development.
